Thanksgiving in Rochester

So in a spontaneous plan, I decided to spend Thanksgiving in Rochester New York with my cousin Jen for the week. In planning on when to head out there Jen and Dave informed me that the weekend before Thanksgiving they would be in Boston for one of Jen's friends Caitlyn's 30th birthday party. So I just flew out a little early and met them in Boston for my first time in Boston!
The Green Monster at some giant Furniture store which included a trapeze, a Fuddruckers and playland.
Having one of the best Graham Crackers ever at some place in Boston. Need to remember to ask Caitlyn or Jen where this place was.
At a place called Fire and Ice, which made me think of a restaurant for Utah with a BYU and Utah themed sides. Someday... Just once that funding comes around!
Me and my friend Sam just hanging out one day while in Boston.
Some amazing building in Boston, gotta remember to look it up. I was real happy with how this picture came out though.

Oh Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving, such a great day to reflect on the things which we are Thankful for, this shuold be like a monthly holiday and not just an annual one, I feel like we could use a lot more Giving of Thanks. Sometimes in this crazy world its easy to get swept away and caught up in the drama which is lifet. But really, we should take more time to be appreciative for what we do have and not worrying about the negative.
Top of my list is absolutely Family, I owe everything to them, love you guys. Someday I'll get you the Thanksgiving Card that I have with me, and I should get that in the mail probably. :)
Now I'd like to take a minute to thank some of the positive friend/influences I've had in my life. I sat down and was thinking about who honestly I would make my Best Man in my wedding.
It was really a daunting thought, I could easily come up with a dozen at any given time. The more I am traveling now, the more I really am thankful for the situations I've been given. The mere fact that the people I've met, the people I've become affiliated with and become friends with I have truly been blessed to be around some of the best people in the world.
I'll leave this post at that, the mere fact that I'm so thankful for the people in my life, I'm a social person at the core and I absolutely am so thankful for every one I have come across. I will follow up with a few more thoughts on friends.

Cheering on my Utes from across the Country

Ok I have to confess, I didn't actually get to see a single down of the famed Holy War this year, but thanks to some great friends I didn't miss a single score, via text message or phone call I was updated the whole game as to what was going on. Thanks Riles and Nick.

Quick update from Rivals.com Which says: "Utah takes place as preemenent non-BCS program.

A great article saying how the Utes could even possibly end up in the National Championship game given the perfect circumstances! How crazy...

Anyhow, Day 2 in Boston was crazy, it was Jen's friend Caitlin's birthday party so we went to the Sam Adams Brewery during the day, and toured some of Boston. Then we went out for some fancy Italian dinner, and down to a place called Paddy O's some Irish pub which was really great. We had a VIP section blocked off and some great company so it was really a fun night! Will have follow up pictures shortly.

TurkeyDay Vacation Day 1

Ok, so on vacation finally, taking 11 days off, and visiting the East Coast and Jen, Dave and Chris!

So day one has been a pretty uneventul day really, just traveling most the day.

Got dropped off at the airport by my good friend Mark this morning and hopped my flight to Vegas. Anyone that claims we are in depression is lying, because there were mobs of people at the airport. Oh, and US Airways, I hate you, $15 for one checked bag, that's super lame.

SO hop the plane fly to Vegas, for my 3 hour layover. Have a Burger King "Value" meal, which is really not much value at the airports, considering it was like $12 bucks! Ridiculous. So after changing to like 4 different gates, finally find out my flight to Boston is going to be late by an hour, which sucks, because I was already going to arrive at 12:10 in the morning so now this pushes the arrival to 1:10. So in boarding I notice this guy that a couple people are looking at, and sure enough it was Carlton Banks himself, brother to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. So we're boarding, and he ends up sitting right in front of me. Kept wanting to say something, but I didn't know his real life name and I thought I heard rumors he's like bitter about being Carlton because now he can't get a real acting job cuz all anyone knows of him is Carlton. Anyhow, we get in the plane, I of course sleep the whole way, which is awesome. Land, get picked up by Dave, Jen and Caitlyn and here I am in Caitlyns house at about 3:34 am here, only midnightish my time though and we're getting ready for bed.

Sounds like parties tomorrow, will keep you updated!

Interesting Facts about Carlton Banks real life name "Alfonso Ribeiro".
Born and raised in New York City, currently lives in Los Angeles
There was a rumor that he died in the 80s while doing a head spin, but he was confused with a breakdancing boy in a Pepsi commercial who did die.
Has a daughter, with Robin Stapler, named Sienna (born 2003).
In 2003 starred in a McDonald's commercial for McGriddle breakfast sandwiches.
Won The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race in 1994 and 1995.
Was cast as one of the background dancers in Michael Jackson's Pepsi commercials in the early 80s
Professional tap dancer and gymnast.
ANd he is currently hosting the show "Catch 21" on the Game Show Network.
Oh how the mighty have fallen Carlton... Coach on a flight, really??

Amusing

Ok so I've seen this circulated around a few times, but I always find it amusing and pretty true! :)

We always hear 'the rules' From the female side...
Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are our rules! Please note – these are all numbered '1' ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials...
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched... We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say 'nothing,' we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear. 1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball or motor sports.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; but did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Funniest Thing Ever

Ok so at the Mason Jennings concert on Saturday, funniest thing ever.
I go in to use the bathroom and there is a set up similar to the picture I have included, but imagine there is only the one taller urinal. So there's only 2 in there. I come walking in and there is a midget, using the tall one! He's kinda arching it up and in there, and I'm a taller guy so I usually avoid the small urinals, but I had no options! So there's me aiming down at this small urinal and the midget next to me... Anyhow, it was all I could do to stop from laughing! Sorry to any of those offended, but was just something funny from this weekend. :)

**On a side note, the Mason Jennings concert was amazing and I highly recommend him to anyone!

Weekend of October 11th

So on the weekend of October 11th, Jackie, Steve, Ashley and I decided to head up to Orange County and see Knotts Scary Farm. We headed up on a Friday night though and got to hang out with Gary & Atsuki that evening and headed out on the town to Downtown Fullerton. Highlights of the night included 100's of "That's what she said" toward Ashley's comments, Kings Cup, truly highlighted by Atsuki's mad rhyming skills, Me apparently having a 20 minute conversation with Riley while walking toward downtown Fullerton, thinking I was jumping over bushes when in fact I was jumping into and through bushes, getting completely tripped and stuck on a giant Aloe Plant, Ashley getting denied from a bar for tripping on her heels, Gary being insistent upon having this amazing pizza and after we'd all ordered our pizza's he said he wasn't hungry and just ordered a water, and telling Ashley & Jackie the flash wasn't working(This however turned out to be an epic failure as Ash has deleted any remnants on her camera.) Anyhow, great times were had and will need to be had again.

Getting Soft

So I just have to say I woke up this morning thinking wow it must really be finally getting winter here. It was down right frigid, I really didn't want to get out from under the covers and out into the cold world. I turned on the TV just in time to catch the newswoman saying how it was 67 degrees outside...
Sigh, curse you Southern California, no wonder so many people are out here, it weakens you on the insides!

On a lighter note, enjoy some Palin Rap.

R.I.P. Drew Robinson

Lost another good friend to the ranks of Marriage.
She seems to be a good one though so we'll go ahead and permit it. Love ya Drewseph.

Flew out there with Ashley and met Gary on Thursday night before the Wedding on Friday the 3rd of October.
There will be more pictures of this event when I can get the pictures from Drew's brother.

Need to get back on pace for updating

Been so busy lately, haven't really had time for full updates.
So, the weekend after my birthday in Vegas, my good friend Drew Fosse came out. Had a great time, headed up to LA and saw a Dodgers game on Thursday 9/25. We ended up just getting $55 Left Field bleacher seat tickets. Definitely an interesting crowd at Dodger Stadium, anybody wearing anything other than Dodger's jersey's was getting heckled, some guy in a Yankee's uniform, some girl in a Cubs shirt, was pretty entertaining. overall the game was sub-par as the Dodger's had clinched the division already, so I think it was the 3rd inning when Manny and anyone with a somewhat recognizable name was pulled out of the game. I've know gorwn to hate the Dodgers for knocking out my Cubbies. Highlight of the game was having Tommy Lasorda walk right behind us and getting to shake his hand.

For some reason they welcomed Jim Abbott too, always liked that guy, don't really remember why they were celebrating him though. Welp that's all for now, gotta get back to cleaning my room for the week. Will update more later.

Will Power turns a Quarter Century

Ok I was going to wait until I had pictures, but they're on Ashley's camera and probably won't be able to get to them anytime soon.
So anyhow, this past weekend I turned 25, I can rent a car now without the additional fee, yay!
It wasn't going to be a big deal really, but in the week heading up to it, I was talking with some friends and we decided what the hell, lets do this. And it became a Vegas weekend.
Booked a couple nights at Treasure Island on the Strip, and Friday right after work, we picked up the crew and headed toward the glowing lights of Las Vegas.
Included in this trip were Ashley, Mark, Jamey and Jenny all in the car for the ride. And Ross flew in first thing Saturday morning and met us there.
The drive down was fairly uneventful, except for going into quadruple over-time in our game of 90's Trivial Pursuit. Teams were me and Jamey vs. Ash, Jenny and Mark. Now to preface, Jenny and Mark are both from Kentucky, so we'll just say the teams were basically 2 on 2.
Critical answers of Conan O'Brian and 'Doom' (The game following Wolfenstein 3d) came up clutch and solidified the victory for me and Jamey.
All in all, getting there went fairly quickly (4 hours 45 min) and we just walked the strip and played some that night.
Woke up early the next morning to catch the football games, played out at the pool, had a little nap. Then went VIP at the club Christian Audigier, which apparently it was me and Heidi Montag's birthday's, she had a few more people in her entourage, including people I think filming The Hills. So it was a really fun night. Yada Yada, went to bed around 5am or so. Everyone sleeps in the next day some, and head back home. I'll update with pictures later when I can get them from Ashley.
Super Drew is coming into town tomorrow afternoon and we're going to be heading up to LA to catch a Dodgers game and possibly a Padres game on Saturday as well, should be a good weekend! Miss you kids back home!

Kings Peak Camp Day 2

Kings Peak Day 2

Me and Ty hiking it up. Believe this was about mile 3 in our 30 mile round trip jaunt.

This is us takinga look at a Moose, two Moose were right by the trail we were following so we decided we needed to take a bit of a break because it was a Momma and a Baby Moose and despite looking relatively non-threatening, they are really pretty large and we didn't want to have a test. So we sat down decided it would be a good time for lunch and hopefully they'd leave. So about the time we sit down for lunch so did they, they just sat right by the trail. So we ended up just having to hike around them.

Me and Dyl crossing a small river.

Me and Ty taking a break on the hike after we had gotten out of the densely wooded area and into a nice lush area.

And here's just me and T, chillin on a stripped funny rock.

Here is by our Camp the first night, you can see a small Dyl at the base of the lake.
Dyl having our delicious Tin Foil dinners.
Picture of where we were headed, Kings Peak is the darker one right in the middle which looks waaayy far out there.
And here is our Camp on our second night of the hike.

Kings Peak Day 1

So for Labor Day Weekend me and a couple of my best friends Tyler and Dylan decided to ascind the highest point in Utah. Kings Peak is 13,528 feet in the air, the 19th highest point in the United States, and a 30 mile round trip hike.

I landed in Salt Lake City Thursday evening and was picked up by the crew and we headed to Dylan's and packed our gear and headed up to Henry's Fork, the base from where we were to hike in. (Pictured) Me, Dylan and Ty from left to right.

A quick stop at Woody's in Evanston Wyoming for a great burger and game of Extreme Hunter and we were on our way.

Notice the happy excited faces prior to beginning on our endeavor. This is the three of us setting up camp on the first night, we slept in Dylan's truck in freezing temperatures and shivvered ourselves to sleep, just what we needed before a good 30 mile hike.

It's been a Minute

It's been at least a minute or two since I've last written and for that I apologize, I have been one busy kid out here lately. Primary reason for no updates however, would be due to the fact that we've had no internet or cable at home for about 2 weeks now. Which truly feels like living in the dark ages, I've been more social, read more books, and probably overall more productive, but it was just a weird sensation. Following shortly will be updates from our hike to Kings Peak.

Softball Filled Weekend

So this past weekend has been a busy one, I have all the pictures from Saturday's softball league so I'm going to go ahead and post this post first despite having a great time Thursday night for Ashley's birthday and a Luau on Friday night with the boys.
So anyhow, a little preface to this post, we started a ward Co-Ed softball team on Coronado Island at a gorgeous baseball park and everything, but we had some struggles throughout the season. Including a few schlacking's losing like 22-3 and madness like that. It was one of those teams where some 17 people would show up and everyone is sitting half the time and you're just giving equal playing time to everyone so needless to say it was frustrating to start and we got our butts kicked some early. Coming into the tournament we were playing in the Play-In game, to see if we even qualified for the tournament. And basically long story short, we win that game, so we're in the tournament, which is now double elimination, so going into the 9am game thinking we'd all be home by 10:30. We win a few more games and end up playing ball until about 3pm that day. Needless to say I was cooked, but we had a lot of fun it was a great time.

Here we've got the boys from our squad, going left to Right we've got Darby, Brannan, Ross, me and Cory. I would like to thank Ross for my wardrobe this day as I spent the night as his place and ended up borrowing his clothes to play. Those white shorts will never be the same.

I think this picture is actually from a little while back, but this is me playing a little SS and making a play.

Look at that full extension Coach Perkins would be proud!

Another good team shot, us taking a break in between one of our games, with Ross on the left, Darby in the back, Michelle, back right, Becky on the right and me up front.

Full team shot, after our miraculous playoff run.
Starting back row - Cory, Michelle, Me, Becky, Janette, Julia and Kami
Front Row - Brannan, Darby, Ross and Cassie
